Guli Youth x University of Information Science and Technology “St. Paul the Apostle”

The University of Information Science and Technology (UIST) “St. Paul the Apostle”, is a higher education state institution located in Ohrid, North Macedonia. UIST is committed to providing excellence in education and research in the field of information sciences and technology, and according to the ranking list composed by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, is currently ranked 3rd out of 20 universities and high education institutions in the country.

UIST is located in the beautiful and ancient city of Ohrid, place where in the 9th century one of the first Universities in Europe was built by St. Clement of Ohrid.

Teaching staff: In order to ensure a quality realization of the teaching progress, the University has employed teaching staff from different countries such as the USA, Italy, Iran, Israel, Albania, Ukraine, Great Britain.

Manner of instruction: To further promote an international competitiveness in our esteemed students, the UIST has adopted the English language as a medium of instruction. The instruction is planned and realized according to modern approaches that arise from the Psychological-pedagogical theories that include education as a progress. Special focus is put on the progress - giving importance to the manner of learning more than the issues of what is learned and why. This manner focuses on the individual development of the student as an academic individual. Central place occupies the approach of how to obtain, analyze and process particular information through critical thinking and on these bases to obtain relevant conclusions. Working with small groups of students in addition to using various forms of instructions, supported by modern information-communication technologies, lectures are delivered in an interactive manner in which students are permanently in a situation where they apply critical thinking.

5 Faculties operate within the UIST:

- Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering;
- Faculty of Communication Networks and Security;
- Faculty of Machine Intelligence and Robotics;
- Faculty of Information Systems, Visualization, Multimedia and Animation;
- Faculty of Information Theories and Analysis; (inactive for the 2012/2013 academic year)
- and one study program of Digital Business Informatics (DBI) at the faculty of ITA.

All which include: a 4-year program in Information Science and Technology towards a "Bachelor of Science in Information Science and Technology" degree in the respective study field. Upon graduation, one is able to continue studies in postgraduate programs.

Guli Youth and UIST have signed a memorandum, for all kinds of potential collaborations.

The purpose of this Memorandum is establishment of cooperation and understanding between Faculty and the organization Guli Youth – Krushevo. in order to recommend candidates for internship according to the requirements at the company.

Association for integration of youth Guli Youth Krushevo is a new non-government organization that initiates the potential of young talents whose goals are to expand their projects and reach a global level of change that will help us and the planet as a whole and make a better future.
